devicetype-detect software package provides attempt to detect the type of the current device, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install devicetype-detect
devicetype-detect is installed in your system.
Make ensure the devicetype-detect package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep devicetype-detect *
You will get with devicetype-detect package name, version, architecture and description in a table
